
Intermodal Engineering Co., Ltd. (IEC) was established in 1975 in Japan as a subsidiary of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (gKh Line) whose main business is to maintain the quality of containers and provide comprehensive consulting about the containers. Since then, IEC are accumulating more intelligence and technology in order to meet the needs of customers and aiming to become a world leader of container specialists.
IEC provides comprehensive consulting from the manufacturing of newly-built
containers to the disposal of old ones,
that is ;
- 1. To plan the specifications of the containers.
- 2. To plan the inspection and maintenance criteria.
- 3. To audit the container damage and defects and to make the necessary adjustments.
- 4. To plan the equipment maintenance budgets.

The damage or defects@on the containers are inspected by IEC. And then the proper repair is implemented
₯ Refrigeration containers
The refrigeration machine is inspected by IEC prior to loading the cargo which requires the temperature control. As well, the refrigeration machine is overhauled in accordance with maintenance program.
When lease containers are On-Hired or Off-Hired by the shipping company,
IEC as the shipping company's inspector surveys the containers in accordance
with international inspection standards.
IEC, on behalf of the owner, conducts acceptance inspections and receives
newly-built containers at the container factory.
IEC provides its own containers as a long term lease to the customers.
